FFmpeg, Wowza and OvenMediaEngine, taught from the command line up.
A decade of conference workshops, rebuilt to run on your own machine — the exact commands, the sample media, and side-by-side encode comparisons.
Three courses are in production: FFmpeg at all skill levels, Wowza Streaming Engine, and OvenMediaEngine — the open-source server VideoRx runs for its own live events.
The material comes from a decade of workshops taught at Streaming Media East and West. Rebuilt so it runs on your machine rather than on a projector: every lesson ships the exact commands, the sample media, and side-by-side encode comparisons so you can see what a setting costs instead of taking it on faith.
What that means in practice
- Rate control, presets and keyframes — and how to defend your choice
- Filter graphs: crop, pad, overlay, drawtext and chaining them
- Multi-rendition ABR ladders that actually switch cleanly
- Capture from local and network devices, and live HLS output
- Wowza Streaming Engine in production, not in a demo
- Sub-second delivery with OvenMediaEngine, licence-free
