Agreement to Terms
By using videorx.com, submitting an inquiry, placing an order, or creating an account with VideoRx (operated by The Makers, LLC), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
Services
VideoRx provides:
- Legacy Preservation: digitization of consumer and prosumer film and tape formats including Super 8, Regular 8, VHS, VHS-C, Hi8, Video8, Digital8, MiniDV, Betamax, U-matic, and others.
- Video Production: multi-camera shoots, editing, content calendars, and ongoing production retainers for businesses.
- Family Vault (forthcoming): a subscription service for storing digitized films and adding voice or video commentary tied to playback.
All services, pricing, and availability are subject to change. We may decline or cancel orders at our discretion.
Order Process
- Submit an inquiry through our contact form. We respond within 2 business days with a quote.
- Orders begin once a deposit is paid through Stripe and your media is received at our intake address.
- Lead times depend on project size and current queue. We will provide an estimate at quote time.
- You will receive notifications at each step of the process: intake confirmed, work in progress, QC review, and ready for pickup or shipping.
Customer Materials & Liability
By shipping original media to us, you accept these terms:
- You retain ownership of all original materials. We hold them as a bailee for the duration of the project and return them on completion.
- Shipping insurance is the customer's responsibility for inbound shipments. We recommend insuring shipments for replacement value.
- VideoRx is not responsible for damage caused by carrier mishandling, pre-existing media degradation (tape shed, vinegar syndrome, magnetic decay), or acts beyond our control.
- We will document the condition of each item on intake. If we identify damaged or unrecoverable material, we will contact you before proceeding.
- VideoRx maintains commercial liability insurance for our facility. Maximum liability for damage attributable to us is the cost of the original transfer service for the affected items, unless otherwise required by law.
Payment
All payments are processed through Stripe. Deposits are due at order confirmation; balances are due before delivery of digitized files. We do not accept cash, check, or wire transfers for standard orders.
Subscription services (Family Vault) are billed on a recurring monthly or annual basis through Stripe. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled.
Cancellations & Refunds
- You may cancel an order before digitization begins for a full refund of the deposit.
- Once digitization has begun, the deposit is non-refundable. Work completed up to the cancellation point is billed at the quoted rate.
- Subscription services may be cancelled at any time. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period — we do not pro-rate refunds for partial periods.
