Who We Are
VideoRx is a video preservation and production service operated by The Makers, LLC. We provide film and tape digitization (Legacy Preservation), video production for businesses, and a forthcoming family vault subscription service for storing and sharing digitized footage.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use videorx.com or engage our services.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, including:
- Contact information: name, email address, phone number when you submit an inquiry or create an account.
- Project details: film and tape counts, format types, condition notes, and any descriptive information you provide about your media.
- Order information: shipping addresses for incoming and outgoing media, order status, internal notes, and delivery confirmations.
- Payment information: billing details processed through Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers — Stripe handles all payment data per their PCI-compliant infrastructure.
- Communications: messages you send us, replies to SMS notifications, and email correspondence.
How We Use Your Information
- Process inquiries, generate quotes, and manage orders
- Send order status updates and shipment notifications by email and (with your consent) SMS
- Communicate about scheduling, project changes, or material handling
- Process payments through Stripe
- Maintain records of orders for tax, warranty, and operational purposes
- Improve our website and services
SMS Text Message Communications
By providing your phone number and explicitly opting in (via the contact form or account registration), you consent to receive the following categories of SMS text messages from VideoRx:
- Order status updates as your transfer job moves through intake, in-progress, QC review, and ready-for-pickup
- Inquiry confirmations when we receive a quote request
- Shipping notifications with tracking information for incoming and outgoing media
- Project updates for B2B production clients (drafts ready, deliverables published)
- Account notifications for vault subscribers (storage limits, new contributor invites)
Additional terms:
- Message frequency varies based on order activity. A typical client receives fewer than 10 messages per order.
- Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier.
- You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any SMS message. Reply HELP for assistance.
- SMS messages are sent via Twilio, our SMS delivery provider.
No mobile information (including phone numbers collected via SMS opt-in) will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes at any time.

Email Communications
When you submit an inquiry or create an account, you agree to receive transactional emails including order confirmations, status updates, and account notifications. These emails are necessary for the operation of our service.
We do not send promotional or marketing emails without your explicit consent.
Payment Information
VideoRx accepts payment via Stripe. We do not see, store, or process credit card numbers — those are handled exclusively by Stripe. We retain only the Stripe customer ID and order receipts for our records.
Information Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We share limited information only with:
- Twilio (SMS delivery): phone numbers are transmitted to Twilio solely as a service provider to deliver SMS notifications. Twilio's privacy policy is at twilio.com/legal/privacy. This data sharing is solely for service delivery and does not constitute sharing for marketing or promotional purposes.
- Stripe (payments): billing information is transmitted to Stripe to process payments.
- Cloudflare: network and security infrastructure for our website.
- Backblaze B2 / AWS: encrypted storage providers for digitized media files.
- Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of our clients.
Customer Materials
When you ship original films or tapes to us for digitization, you remain the owner of those materials. We hold your media as a bailee for the duration of the project and return all originals on completion. Digitized files are produced from your originals and remain your property.
Children's Privacy
VideoRx services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent who believes a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will remove it.
Data Security
We use HTTPS, hashed passwords, encrypted storage, and access controls to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
Data Retention
We retain account and order records as long as your account is active or as needed for legal, tax, and accounting purposes. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us directly.
